Raw materials: Q195 low-carbon steel wire rod
Production process: wire rod → wire drawing → annealing → rust removal → pickling → galvanizing → plastic coating → wire coiling.
Features: Galvanized iron wire has good toughness and elasticity, and the maximum zinc coating can reach 300 grams/square meter. It has the characteristics of thick galvanized layer and strong corrosion resistance.
According to different galvanizing processes, galvanized wire is divided into hot-dip galvanized wire and cold-dip galvanized wire.
Hot-dip galvanized wire is dipped in heated and molten zinc liquid. The production speed is fast, the coating is thick but not uniform, the minimum thickness is 45 microns, and the maximum thickness can reach more than 300 microns. The color is darker, the zinc metal consumption is more, and it can form an infiltration layer with the base metal. It has good corrosion resistance. Hot-dip galvanizing can be maintained for decades in outdoor environments.
Cold-dip galvanized wire is also called electro-galvanized wire. It is a process in which zinc is gradually plated on the metal surface through unidirectional current in the electroplating tank. The production speed is slow, the coating is uniform, the thickness is thin, usually only 3-15 microns, the appearance is bright, and the corrosion resistance is not as good as hot-dip galvanized wire.
Difference between cold-dip galvanizing and hot-dip galvanizing: The difference between cold-dip galvanizing and hot-dip galvanizing is the different amount of zinc applied. They can be identified by color. Cold-dip galvanizing is bright in color, silver-white with a slight yellow. Hot-dip galvanizing is bright and white.
