Recently, our company successfully completed the customs declaration and packing of a batch of customized 33kV zinc oxide composite lightning arresters, which were shipped to Nigeria and will be used in local urban distribution network renovation and rural electrification construction projects. The Nigerian distribution network uses 33kV as the core distribution voltage. The country experiences frequent lightning activity, and the southern coastal region suffers from severe salt spray corrosion. The old porcelain lightning arresters have poor pollution resistance, leading to a high incidence of lightning strike line failures and substation equipment damage. Taking into account the local power grid conditions, the YH10W series lightning arresters exported this time have undergone special adaptation and upgrading: the core zinc oxide resistor has undergone rigorous tests such as partial discharge and repeated charge transfer, and can handle strong lightning impacts with a 10kA large discharge current; the silicone rubber outer sheath has excellent salt spray resistance and pollution resistance, adapting to the complex climate environment of Nigeria; the model with a series gap matches the local power grid neutral point operation mode, significantly reducing the risk of equipment burnout caused by single-phase grounding faults. This export order serves as a typical example of domestic lightning protection equipment making deep inroads into the Nigerian market. As West African countries accelerate the upgrading of their power grid infrastructure, the market for medium-voltage power equipment tailored to the unique environment of Africa holds vast prospects.
